| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Arnold Wade of Houston has ably served his fellow |

| 7 | 8 | | Gervin-Hawkins during the 87th Legislative Session; and |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Mr. Wade has provided vital |

| 9 | 10 | | assistance in handling a wide variety of tasks, including |

| 10 | 11 | | conducting legislative research, performing administrative and |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | clerical duties, and managing constituent correspondence; in |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | addition to gaining valuable experience in the field of public |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | service, he has learned more about the legislative process and the |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | issues facing citizens of the Lone Star State; and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Wade is currently a student at The University of |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | Texas at Austin, where he is working toward his bachelor's degree in |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | Plan II Honors and government with a minor in history; he serves as |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | the cofounder and vice president of the Latinx Honors Student |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | Association and as treasurer of the Black Honors Student |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | Association, and he has also found time to work as a mentor for |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | Magnolia Montessori For All; in the future, he plans to attend law |

| 22 | 23 | | school and to dedicate his career to advocating for criminal |

| 24 | 25 | | WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has performed his |

| 25 | 26 | | duties as a legislative intern with skill and dedication, and he is |

| 26 | 27 | | indeed deserving of special recognition for his fine work; now, |
