| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Hayden Padgett has ably guided the Texas Young |

| 7 | 8 | | demonstrated a tireless dedication to advancing the goals of the |

|---|
| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Padgett moved to Texas from California, where he |

| 10 | 11 | | graduated with a bachelor's degree in political science from the |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | University of California, Los Angeles; he has been employed as a |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | product manager for PayPal, Capital One, Door-Real Estate, and |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | TaxAct, and he has acquired public policy experience as an intern |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | for United States Senator Richard G. Lugar and for the Cato |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | Institute; and |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | WHEREAS, As head of the Texas Young Republicans, Mr. Padgett |

| 17 | 18 | | has guided the club through an era of strong membership growth, high |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | volunteer turnout, and increased legislative involvement; he and |

| 19 | 20 | | his fellow members have worked to support Republican candidates for |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | elected office and to help prepare the next generation of |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | conservative leaders, and their efforts were recently rewarded when |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | the club was selected as Federation of the Year and Mr. Padgett was |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | named Man of the Year by the Young Republican National Federation in |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | 2020; he has also served in national board positions within the |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | YRNF, including vice chair of the State Chairman's Association and |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | chair of the YRNF Membership Committee; looking to the future, he |

| 27 | 28 | | will be continuing his work as co-chair of the Young Republican |

| 28 | 29 | | National Federation; and |

| 29 | 30 | | WHEREAS, Hayden Padgett has distinguished himself through |

| 30 | 31 | | his outstanding record of service in behalf of the Texas Young |

| 31 | 32 | | Republicans, and his contributions have earned him the lasting |

| 32 | 33 | | respect and gratitude of his colleagues; now, therefore, be it |

| 33 | 34 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
