| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Caleb Barkman has ably served his fellow Texans as |

| 6 | 7 | | an aide in the office of State Representative Kyle Kacal during the |

| 7 | 8 | | 87th Legislative Session; and |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, A Bob Bullock Scholar, Mr. Barkman has provided |

| 9 | 10 | | vital assistance in handling a wide variety of challenging tasks |

| 10 | 11 | | since joining the staff, including helping with a constitutional |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | amendment related to bail reform; in addition to gaining valuable |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | experience in the field of public service, he has learned more about |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | the legislative process and the issues facing citizens of the Lone |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | Star State; and |

| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Barkman previously served as a legal clerk for |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | Segrest & Segrest Law in Waco, and during his time there, he helped |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | manage social media and advertising for the McLennan County |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | Republican Party; a native of Godley, he distinguished himself at |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | Cleburne High School through his involvement in the National Honor |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | Society, the Beta Club, and UIL cheer and persuasive speaking |

| 21 | 22 | | competitions, and he played an instrumental role in reviving the |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | YMCA Youth and Government program; he is currently a student at |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | Baylor University, where he is pursuing a bachelor's degree in |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | political science and philosophy with an emphasis in prelaw; and |

| 25 | 26 | | WHEREAS, This outstanding young Texan has performed his |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | duties as a legislative aide with skill and dedication, and he is |

| 27 | 28 | | indeed deserving of special recognition for his fine work; now, |

| 29 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
