| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Family and friends will forever treasure their |

| 6 | 7 | | memories of John Stanley Vyvlecka Jr., who died on October 6, 2020, |

| 7 | 8 | | at the age of 83; and |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The son of John and Marcella Vyvlecka, John Vyvlecka |

| 9 | 10 | | was born in Poteet on January 13, 1937, and grew up with a brother, |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | James; he shared a loving union with his wife, the former Mary Ann |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | Marek, that spanned nearly six decades, and he was the proud father |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | of three children, Brady, Deanna, and Scot; with the passing years, |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | he had the pleasure of seeing his family grow to include four |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | grandchildren, Collin, Faith, Derek, and Dylan, and a |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | great-granddaughter, Fallon; and |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Vyvlecka graduated from Jourdanton High School |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | in 1957 and enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving until 1961; he began |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | his civilian career at Lewis Plumbing and Electricity in Uvalde, |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | and he went on to become a maintenance technician at Mercy Hospital |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | in Jourdanton; working out of Jourdanton Hardware, he and his |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | brother also repaired air conditioners at night; and |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | WHEREAS, A man of deep faith, Mr. Vyvlecka attended |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | St. Matthew and St. Andrew Catholic Churches in Atascosa County, |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | and he served his community as a volunteer firefighter and a member |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | of the VFW; a true outdoorsman, he delighted in camping, hunting, |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | fishing, and collecting arrowheads; he also enjoyed traveling with |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | his wife to Las Vegas, Hawaii, Bermuda, Ireland, Portugal, Jamaica, |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | and the Bahamas; and |
|---|
| 29 | 30 | | WHEREAS, John Vyvlecka lived a rich and purposeful life |

| 30 | 31 | | centered around his family, his community, and his faith, and he |
|---|
| 31 | 32 | | will long be remembered with deep affection by all who knew him; |

| 32 | 33 | | now, therefore, be it |

| 33 | 34 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |

| 34 | 35 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of John Stanley |

| 35 | 36 | | Vyvlecka Jr. and extend heartfelt sympathy to his relatives and |
