45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Family and friends will forever treasure their
67 memories of John Stanley Vyvlecka Jr., who died on October 6, 2020,
78 at the age of 83; and
89 WHEREAS, The son of John and Marcella Vyvlecka, John Vyvlecka
910 was born in Poteet on January 13, 1937, and grew up with a brother,
1011 James; he shared a loving union with his wife, the former Mary Ann
1112 Marek, that spanned nearly six decades, and he was the proud father
1213 of three children, Brady, Deanna, and Scot; with the passing years,
1314 he had the pleasure of seeing his family grow to include four
1415 grandchildren, Collin, Faith, Derek, and Dylan, and a
1516 great-granddaughter, Fallon; and
1617 WHEREAS, Mr. Vyvlecka graduated from Jourdanton High School
1718 in 1957 and enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving until 1961; he began
1819 his civilian career at Lewis Plumbing and Electricity in Uvalde,
1920 and he went on to become a maintenance technician at Mercy Hospital
2021 in Jourdanton; working out of Jourdanton Hardware, he and his
2122 brother also repaired air conditioners at night; and
2223 WHEREAS, A man of deep faith, Mr. Vyvlecka attended
2324 St. Matthew and St. Andrew Catholic Churches in Atascosa County,
2425 and he served his community as a volunteer firefighter and a member
2526 of the VFW; a true outdoorsman, he delighted in camping, hunting,
2627 fishing, and collecting arrowheads; he also enjoyed traveling with
2728 his wife to Las Vegas, Hawaii, Bermuda, Ireland, Portugal, Jamaica,
2829 and the Bahamas; and
2930 WHEREAS, John Vyvlecka lived a rich and purposeful life
3031 centered around his family, his community, and his faith, and he
3132 will long be remembered with deep affection by all who knew him;
3233 now, therefore, be it
3334 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
3435 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of John Stanley
3536 Vyvlecka Jr. and extend heartfelt sympathy to his relatives and
3637 friends; and, be it further
3738 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3839 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
3940 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of John
4041 Stanley Vyvlecka.
