| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories |

| 6 | 7 | | of Abraham Ruiz of Raymondville, who passed away on May 24, 2020, at |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The son of Jose and Felipa Ruiz, Abraham Ruiz was |

| 9 | 10 | | born on October 26, 1941, in Lyford and grew up with eight siblings; |

| 11 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Answering his nation's call to arms, Mr. Ruiz became |

| 12 | 13 | | a member of the U.S. Army and served two tours of duty in Vietnam; |

| 13 | 14 | | his military awards included the Purple Heart and the Vietnam |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | Service Medal with four bronze stars; he went on to work for the |

| 15 | 16 | | City of Raymondville for more than two decades before retiring; and |

| 16 | 17 | | WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Ruiz enjoyed the love and |

| 17 | 18 | | support of his wife, Eulalia, and he took great pride in his |

| 18 | 19 | | children, Elizabeth, Eulalia, Perla, Esmeralda, and Adrianna; with |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | the passing years, he had the pleasure of seeing his family grow to |

| 20 | 21 | | include 11 grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren; and |

| 21 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Deeply dedicated to his family, his country, and his |

| 22 | 23 | | community, Abraham Ruiz lived a rich and purposeful life, and he |

| 23 | 24 | | leaves behind a record of service that his loved ones can remember |

| 24 | 25 | | with pride; now, therefore, be it |
