| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories |

| 6 | 7 | | of Jimmie Edward Jones, who passed away on April 20, 2020, at the |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The son of Jimmie and Mary Alice Jones, Jimmie Jones |

| 9 | 10 | | was born on October 17, 1954, in Beeville and grew up with a sister, |

| 10 | 11 | | Nicole; he was a rancher and had a deep love for his land and |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | livestock; and |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | WHEREAS, A valued member of his community, Mr. Jones was the |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | Live Oak County justice of the peace for Precinct 3; for more than |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | 35 years, this esteemed Texan served in the Swinney Switch |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | Volunteer Fire Department, including 15 years as fire chief, and he |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | was the assistant chief at the time of his passing; moreover, he was |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | a member of the Knights of Columbus and St. George Catholic Church |

| 18 | 19 | | in George West; and |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Jones enjoyed the love and |

| 20 | 21 | | support of his wife, Jeanene, and he took great pride in his three |

| 21 | 22 | | children, Jimmie, Daniel, and Jeanne; with the passing years, he |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | had the pleasure of seeing his family grow to include nine |

| 23 | 24 | | grandchildren, Julie, Jimmie, Joslyn, Janna, Nathan, Nayla, |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | Jolene, Smokey, and Beretta; and |

| 25 | 26 | | WHEREAS, Deeply dedicated to his family, his faith, and his |

| 26 | 27 | | community, Jimmie Jones earned the lasting respect and admiration |

| 27 | 28 | | of all who were privileged to know him; now, therefore, be it |

| 28 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |

| 29 | 30 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Jimmie Edward Jones |
