45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories
67 of Daniel Garcia of Garciasville, who passed away on July 24, 2020,
78 at the age of 61; and
89 WHEREAS, The son of Candelario Garcia and Mercedes Silva,
910 Daniel Garcia was born on July 2, 1959, and grew up with six
1011 siblings, Herlinda, Ernestina, Idolina, Mirta, Mercedes, and
1112 Heriberto; and
1213 WHEREAS, Answering his nation's call to duty, Mr. Garcia
1314 enlisted in the U.S. Marine Corps; he retired in 1998 at the rank of
1415 staff sergeant after 20 years of exemplary service; he also
1516 distinguished himself in his second career as an educator, working
1617 for 13 years with the Rio Grande City Consolidated Independent
1718 School District, and he was selected as the district's Secondary
1819 Teacher of the Year at the close of his tenure; in all his
1920 endeavors, he enjoyed the love and support of his wife, Lilia; and
2021 WHEREAS, Daniel Garcia was a brave marine, a caring husband,
2122 and a dedicated educator, and the contributions he made in each of
2223 these roles will long inspire those who were fortunate enough to
2324 know him; now, therefore, be it
2425 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
2526 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Daniel Garcia and
2627 extend sincere condolences to all who mourn his passing; and, be it
2728 further
2829 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2930 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
3031 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Daniel
3132 Garcia.
