| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories |

| 6 | 7 | | of Gilberto Garza Saenz of Falfurrias, who passed away on July 24, |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The son of Domingo Saenz Sr. and Santos Garza Saenz, |

| 9 | 10 | | Gilbert Saenz was born on September 21, 1927, in Falfurrias and grew |

| 10 | 11 | | up with 15 siblings; and |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | WHEREAS, Answering his nation's call to duty, Mr. Saenz |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | joined the U.S. Army after high school and served as an MP during |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | World War II; following his time in the military, he went on to work |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | as a pipefitter for Brown and Root until his retirement; and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Saenz enjoyed the love and |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | support of his wife, Aminta, with whom he shared a rewarding |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | marriage that spanned 74 years; he took great pride in their five |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | daughters, Soila, Edna, Elsa, Anita, and Maria, and with the |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | passing years, he had the pleasure of seeing his family grow to |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | include 10 grandchildren and five great-grandchildren; and |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Dedicated to his family, his faith, and his country, |

| 22 | 23 | | Gilbert Saenz earned the lasting admiration and affection of all |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | who were privileged to know him; now, therefore, be it |

| 24 | 25 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |

| 25 | 26 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Gilberto Garza Saenz |

| 26 | 27 | | and extend sincere condolences to his loved ones; and, be it further |
