| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, During the 87th Texas Legislature, Judge Rick Hill |

| 6 | 7 | | has served as a champion for his profession through his work as |

| 7 | 8 | | president of the Justices of the Peace and Constables Association |
|---|
| 8 | 9 | | of Texas; and |
|---|
| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Since 1945, the JPCA has represented the interests |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | of the justices of the peace and constables of the Lone Star State, |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | protecting the heritage and authority of these essential offices; |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | as president during the current legislative session, Judge Hill has |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | advocated for legislation that is beneficial to the profession; and |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Judge Hill was elected as justice of the peace for |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | Brazos County Precinct 3 in 2014 and elected to a second term in |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | 2018; in addition, he has served as a faculty member for the Texas |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | Justice Court Training Center for three years; and |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | WHEREAS, A veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Judge Hill earned |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | his bachelor's and master's degrees at Texas A&M University, and |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | from 1989 until his retirement in 2011, he was an educator with the |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | College Station Independent School District; at A&M Consolidated |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | High School, he taught chemistry and physical science before |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | becoming assistant principal, and he went on to serve for nine years |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | as principal at Cypress Grove Intermediate School; and |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | WHEREAS, Judge Hill is widely recognized as the "Voice of |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | Aggieland," having been the announcer for Aggie baseball at Olsen |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | Field for 29 years and at various College Station ISD sporting |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | events for 30 years; he has also read the names of graduates at |
|---|
| 29 | 30 | | commencement ceremonies for TAMU and area high schools; in all his |
|---|
| 30 | 31 | | endeavors, he enjoys the love and support of his wife, Donna; and |
|---|
| 31 | 32 | | WHEREAS, Judge Hill's dedication, expertise, and commitment |
|---|
| 32 | 33 | | to excellence have greatly benefited the mission of the JPCA and |
|---|
| 33 | 34 | | earned him the respect and admiration of the association's |
|---|
| 34 | 35 | | membership, and he may indeed take great pride in his outstanding |
|---|
| 35 | 36 | | work in their behalf during the legislative session; now, |
|---|
| 36 | 37 | | therefore, be it |

| 37 | 38 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |

| 38 | 39 | | Legislature hereby commend Judge Rick Hill for his work as |

| 39 | 40 | | president of the Justices of the Peace and Constables Association |

| 40 | 41 | | of Texas and extend to him sincere best wishes for continued |
