| 12 | 13 | | the goal of the organization is to transform the culture around |

| 13 | 14 | | civic participation and to inspire Latin American citizens to take |

| 16 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Somos Tejas has been an outstanding resource to area |

| 19 | 20 | | organization has disseminated important information about COVID-19 |

| 20 | 21 | | safety measures and vaccine eligibility; in addition, it has |

| 21 | 22 | | continued to carry out its work to promote Latin American |

| 22 | 23 | | representation by encouraging participation in the 2020 Census and |

| 23 | 24 | | keeping residents up to date about elections and city meetings; and |

| 24 | 25 | | WHEREAS, Somos Tejas has performed vital work to mitigate the |

| 25 | 26 | | impact of a public health crisis that has created many hardships for |

| 26 | 27 | | the community, and all those involved with the organization may |

| 29 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
