| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Family and friends will long cherish their memories |

| 6 | 7 | | of Robert Avitua of Robstown, who passed away on January 7, 2021, at |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Robert Avitua was born to Severo Avitua and |

| 9 | 10 | | Guadalupe Torres on November 19, 1939, in Corpus Christi, and he |

| 10 | 11 | | grew up with five siblings, Jesse, Michael, Eva, Gloria, and Jo Ann; |

| 12 | 13 | | WHEREAS, Answering his nation's call to duty, Mr. Avitua |

| 13 | 14 | | proudly served with the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, and he |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | went on to a long career at the Corpus Christi Army Depot, where he |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | retired in 1993 after 29 years; a talented musician, particularly |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | on the accordion, he played regularly with bands in the area; and |

| 17 | 18 | | WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Avitua enjoyed the love |

| 18 | 19 | | and support of his wife of 53 years, Maria, and he took great pride |

| 19 | 20 | | in his children, Robert, Debra, and Velma; with the passing years, |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | he had the pleasure of seeing his family grow to include five |

| 21 | 22 | | grandchildren, Hailie, Juan, Monica, Serena, and HeavenLee, and |

| 22 | 23 | | three great-grandchildren, Aiden, Ethan, and Sophia; and |

| 23 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Those who were privileged enough to share in this |

| 24 | 25 | | esteemed man's love and friendship will always remember him with |

| 25 | 26 | | great tenderness and affection; now, therefore, be it |
