45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Vista Hills Elementary School in the Ysleta
67 Independent School District has been nominated for a 2021 National
78 Blue Ribbon award; and
89 WHEREAS, The National Blue Ribbon Schools Program was created
910 by the U.S. Department of Education in 1982 to recognize campuses
1011 that have demonstrated superior academic performance or made
1112 notable progress in improving outcomes among economically
1213 disadvantaged students; and
1314 WHEREAS, Nominated in the Exemplary Achievement-Gap-Closing
1415 category, Vista Hills Elementary serves approximately 650 students
1516 in preschool and kindergarten through sixth grade; the school
1617 offers a wide range of innovative programs, including its
1718 Research-Based Instruction Fine Arts Program and STEAM lab,
1819 bilingual program, and EngageMe Initiative; moreover, the campus
1920 provides a variety of extracurricular opportunities, including the
2021 Crusaders with Character student group; and
2122 WHEREAS, Through hard work and perseverance, the teachers and
2223 students of Vista Hills Elementary School have established a record
2324 of scholastic excellence, and their outstanding efforts are indeed
2425 deserving of recognition; now, therefore, be it
2526 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
2627 Legislature hereby congratulate Vista Hills Elementary School on
2728 being nominated for the 2021 National Blue Ribbon award and extend
2829 to all those involved with the school sincere best wishes for the
2930 future; and, be it further
3031 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3132 prepared for Vista Hills Elementary as an expression of high regard
3233 by the Texas House of Representatives.
