45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Dr. Richard Lynn Ingrim, an esteemed member of the
67 Grand Saline community and a friend to many, passed away on November
78 22, 2020, at the age of 77; and
89 WHEREAS, The son of Clarence Houston and Eileen Leona Knowles
910 Ingrim, Rick Ingrim was born in Wichita, Kansas, on April 8, 1943,
1011 and he grew up with the companionship of three siblings, Jim,
1112 Dennis, and Judy; answering his nation's call to duty, he joined the
1213 U.S. Army during the Vietnam War; he served as a Green Beret
1314 paratrooper and a medic for the 5th Special Forces Group and was
1415 awarded the Bronze Star; and
1516 WHEREAS, Upon returning to civilian life, he pursued a career
1617 in medicine, attending medical schools in Texas and Mexico before
1718 completing his residency in family medicine at the University of
1819 Oklahoma in 1984; he subsequently moved back to Texas to open a
1920 private practice in Grand Saline, Family Medicine Clinic, and he
2021 went on to establish Country Trails Care Center in 1988;
2122 additionally, he served for many years as medical director for
2223 Cozby-Germany Hospital and for the Grand Saline Fire
2324 Department/EMS; he retired from his office practice in 2018 but
2425 continued working in hospice care; and
2526 WHEREAS, An Eagle Scout and a lifelong supporter of the Boy
2627 Scouts, Dr. Ingrim gave generously of his time and talents to Troop
2728 No. 374, serving as scoutmaster and guiding many scouts in
2829 attaining the rank of Eagle Scout; he was sustained by an abiding
2930 faith and was a valued congregant of First United Methodist Church,
3031 where he attended the Pairs and Spares Sunday school class; and
3132 WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Dr. Ingrim benefited from the
3233 love and support of his wife, Diane, with whom he shared a rewarding
3334 union that spanned five decades; he took great pride in his three
3435 children, Ryan, Holly, and Zack, and he delighted in time spent with
3536 his three grandchildren, Ellie, Asher, and Brooks; in his leisure
3637 hours, he enjoyed gardening and putting his tractor to use; and
3738 WHEREAS, While the death of Rick Ingrim brings immeasurable
3839 sorrow to his family and friends, he leaves behind a legacy that
3940 will long be treasured by all those who hold him dear; now,
4041 therefore, be it
4142 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
4243 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Dr. Richard Lynn
4344 Ingrim and extend sincere condolences to his loved ones; and, be it
4445 further
4546 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
4647 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
4748 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of
4849 Dr. Richard Ingrim.
