5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Dr. Richard Lynn Ingrim, an esteemed member of the |

6 | 7 | | Grand Saline community and a friend to many, passed away on November |

7 | 8 | | 22, 2020, at the age of 77; and |
---|
8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The son of Clarence Houston and Eileen Leona Knowles |
---|
9 | 10 | | Ingrim, Rick Ingrim was born in Wichita, Kansas, on April 8, 1943, |
---|
10 | 11 | | and he grew up with the companionship of three siblings, Jim, |
---|
11 | 12 | | Dennis, and Judy; answering his nation's call to duty, he joined the |
---|
12 | 13 | | U.S. Army during the Vietnam War; he served as a Green Beret |
---|
13 | 14 | | paratrooper and a medic for the 5th Special Forces Group and was |
---|
14 | 15 | | awarded the Bronze Star; and |
---|
15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Upon returning to civilian life, he pursued a career |
---|
16 | 17 | | in medicine, attending medical schools in Texas and Mexico before |
---|
17 | 18 | | completing his residency in family medicine at the University of |
---|
18 | 19 | | Oklahoma in 1984; he subsequently moved back to Texas to open a |
---|
19 | 20 | | private practice in Grand Saline, Family Medicine Clinic, and he |
---|
20 | 21 | | went on to establish Country Trails Care Center in 1988; |
---|
21 | 22 | | additionally, he served for many years as medical director for |
---|
22 | 23 | | Cozby-Germany Hospital and for the Grand Saline Fire |
---|
23 | 24 | | Department/EMS; he retired from his office practice in 2018 but |
---|
24 | 25 | | continued working in hospice care; and |
---|
25 | 26 | | WHEREAS, An Eagle Scout and a lifelong supporter of the Boy |
---|
26 | 27 | | Scouts, Dr. Ingrim gave generously of his time and talents to Troop |
---|
27 | 28 | | No. 374, serving as scoutmaster and guiding many scouts in |
---|
28 | 29 | | attaining the rank of Eagle Scout; he was sustained by an abiding |
---|
29 | 30 | | faith and was a valued congregant of First United Methodist Church, |
---|
30 | 31 | | where he attended the Pairs and Spares Sunday school class; and |
---|
31 | 32 | | WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Dr. Ingrim benefited from the |
---|
32 | 33 | | love and support of his wife, Diane, with whom he shared a rewarding |
---|
33 | 34 | | union that spanned five decades; he took great pride in his three |
---|
34 | 35 | | children, Ryan, Holly, and Zack, and he delighted in time spent with |
---|
35 | 36 | | his three grandchildren, Ellie, Asher, and Brooks; in his leisure |
---|
36 | 37 | | hours, he enjoyed gardening and putting his tractor to use; and |
---|
37 | 38 | | WHEREAS, While the death of Rick Ingrim brings immeasurable |
---|
38 | 39 | | sorrow to his family and friends, he leaves behind a legacy that |
---|
39 | 40 | | will long be treasured by all those who hold him dear; now, |
---|
40 | 41 | | therefore, be it |
---|
41 | 42 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
---|
42 | 43 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Dr. Richard Lynn |
---|
43 | 44 | | Ingrim and extend sincere condolences to his loved ones; and, be it |

44 | 45 | | further |

45 | 46 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |

46 | 47 | | prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of |
