| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The COVID-19 pandemic has required health care |

| 8 | 9 | | South Texas Health System Children's Hospital have distinguished |

| 9 | 10 | | themselves by providing Hidalgo County residents with the highest |

| 11 | 12 | | WHEREAS, In meeting this global health crisis, hospital |

| 12 | 13 | | workers have been forced to adapt to rapidly changing |

| 13 | 14 | | circumstances; as the scale of the pandemic has grown at an alarming |

| 14 | 15 | | pace, medical professionals have attended to increasingly crowded |

| 15 | 16 | | emergency rooms, hospital wards, and intensive care units, where |

| 16 | 17 | | they have continued to heroically perform their duties under |

| 17 | 18 | | difficult and extremely stressful conditions; and |

| 18 | 19 | | WHEREAS, The dedicated staff members at South Texas Health |

| 19 | 20 | | System Children's Hospital have met these challenges with |

| 20 | 21 | | tremendous resolve; this includes not only physicians, nurses, and |

| 21 | 22 | | other frontline personnel, but also those in leadership positions, |

| 22 | 23 | | who have developed and implemented new strategies for navigating |

| 23 | 24 | | the ongoing crisis; and |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | WHEREAS, Through their exemplary work, the accomplished |

| 25 | 26 | | professionals at South Texas Health System Children's Hospital have |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | brought hope to their community in this time of uncertainty, and in |

| 27 | 28 | | so doing, they have earned the heartfelt gratitude of the Texans |

| 28 | 29 | | they serve; now, therefore, be it |

| 29 | 30 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |

| 30 | 31 | | Legislature hereby honor the physicians, nurses, administrators, |

| 32 | 33 | | Hospital for their inspiring efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic |
