| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Mario Lizcano has been selected as the 2020 Man of |

| 6 | 7 | | the Year by the Edinburg Chamber of Commerce; and |

| 7 | 8 | | WHEREAS, Each year, the chamber honors individuals for their |
|---|
| 8 | 9 | | exceptional dedication to civic engagement and for their efforts to |
|---|
| 9 | 10 | | benefit the local community; and |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Lizcano is the administrator of corporate |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | affairs at DHR Health, and in that role, he works to increase |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | awareness of the services and programs offered by the hospital |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | system; his commitment to going above and beyond in behalf of his |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | community has earned him the esteem of his colleagues, and in 2020, |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | he received the DHR Health Hero Award; moreover, he was inducted |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | into the Rio Grande Valley Walk of Fame in 2020, and he has been |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | recognized as Man of the Year by Rio Grande Valley Humanities; a |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | volunteer firefighter for more than two decades, he was twice named |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | Volunteer Firefighter of the Year for the City of Mission and has |

| 20 | 21 | | been honored as Firefighter of the Year for the Rio Grande Valley; |

| 22 | 23 | | WHEREAS, An engaged citizen, Mr. Lizcano has given |

| 23 | 24 | | generously of his time and talents through his involvement with |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | more than 500 regional and statewide events over the years; he has |

| 25 | 26 | | further distinguished himself through his service on the boards of |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | numerous civic organizations, among them the Edinburg Chamber of |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | Commerce, the City of Edinburg Census Committee, Hidalgo County |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | Health Services, and The University of Texas-Rio Grande Valley |
|---|
| 29 | 30 | | Athletic Council; and |
|---|
| 30 | 31 | | WHEREAS, Mario Lizcano has demonstrated a lasting commitment |

| 31 | 32 | | to making Edinburg a better place for all, and in so doing, he has |

| 32 | 33 | | earned the deep respect and appreciation of his fellow residents; |
