| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, A native of Edinburg and a proud alumna of Edinburg |

| 9 | 10 | | High School, Ms. Perez began her teaching career with the Donna |

| 10 | 11 | | Independent School District in 1969, when her monthly salary was |

| 11 | 12 | | $300; she worked in Donna for three years before joining the |

| 12 | 13 | | Edinburg district; and |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | WHEREAS, This exceptional professional taught at Edinburg |

| 14 | 15 | | High School for 27 years, and for the past two decades, she has been |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | a member of the faculty at Economedes High; throughout her career, |

| 16 | 17 | | she has been a lively presence both inside and outside the |

| 17 | 18 | | classroom, an active participant in countless school activities, |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | and a mentor and an inspiration to generations of young Texans; and |

| 19 | 20 | | WHEREAS, For decades, Ms. Perez's dedication, enthusiasm, |

| 20 | 21 | | and commitment to excellence have greatly benefited the mission of |

| 21 | 22 | | Edinburg CISD and earned her the respect and admiration of her |

| 22 | 23 | | fellow educators and her students, and she may take great pride in |

| 23 | 24 | | her innumerable achievements as she reaches this impressive |

| 24 | 25 | | milestone in her career; now, therefore, be it |

| 25 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
