45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Charles Ramirez retired as an assistant chief of the
67 Fort Worth Police Department on March 1, 2021, drawing to a close an
78 exemplary career that spanned 29 years with the department; and
89 WHEREAS, In 1991, Mr. Ramirez joined the Fort Worth PD, and
910 after graduating from the police academy, he was assigned to the
1011 North Division as a patrol officer; he went on to work in the North
1112 NPO and the Detective East Criminal Investigation Unit; as a
1213 sergeant, he served in multiple divisions and in the Traffic
1314 Investigation Unit; and
1415 WHEREAS, Mr. Ramirez rose steadily through the ranks,
1516 gaining experience in the Background and Recruiting Unit, as an NPD
1617 commander for the Northside, as duty captain, and as administrative
1718 captain for the Chief's Office; following his promotion to deputy
1819 chief, he was assigned to the Special Services Bureau, Operational
1920 Support Bureau, and South/East Field Operations; during his tenure
2021 as assistant chief, he served in the Finance and Personnel Bureau
2122 and the Support Bureau; and
2223 WHEREAS, Dedicated to his profession, Mr. Ramirez graduated
2324 from the Southern Police Institute's Administrative Officer's
2425 Course and the FBI National Academy; he attended the Police
2526 Executive Research Forum's Senior Management Institute for Police
2627 as well; a veteran of the United States Navy, he holds a bachelor's
2728 degree from Midwestern State University and a master's degree in
2829 public administration from the University of Louisville; and
2930 WHEREAS, Mr. Ramirez has taken up a new post as director of
3031 safety and security for the Eagle Mountain-Saginaw Independent
3132 School District, of which he is an alumnus; in all his endeavors, he
3233 is supported by the love and encouragement of his wife, Karen, and
3334 their daughters, Sarah and Leslie; and
3435 WHEREAS, Through his skill, professionalism, and deep
3536 commitment to public safety, Charles Ramirez has earned the lasting
3637 respect and admiration of his fellow officers and citizens alike,
3738 and he may indeed reflect with pride on his contributions; now,
3839 therefore, be it
3940 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
4041 Legislature hereby congratulate Charles Ramirez on his retirement
4142 as an assistant chief of the Fort Worth Police Department and extend
4243 to him sincere best wishes for continued success; and, be it further
4344 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
4445 prepared for Mr. Ramirez as an expression of high regard by the
4546 Texas House of Representatives.
