| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, PLAN @ 1121 Rock in Richardson, a Clubhouse |

| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, People Living Active Now, or PLAN, was established |

| 10 | 11 | | by two parents of adult children with mental illness in 1991; having |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | witnessed firsthand the scarcity of resources available to families |

| 12 | 13 | | like their own, the program's founders set out to build an |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | organization to help address the needs of persons affected by |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | severe mental illness and their loved ones; in August 2017, PLAN |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | officially merged with Jewish Family Services of Greater Dallas, |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | and the program currently serves more than 150 individuals, as well |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | as their families; and |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | WHEREAS, PLAN @ 1121 Rock, the first accredited Clubhouse in |

| 19 | 20 | | North Texas, is a nonprofit operated by men and women recovering |

| 20 | 21 | | from mental illness, who work side by side with caring staff to help |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | themselves and one another to regain independence and productivity, |

| 22 | 23 | | create opportunities for socialization, and overcome stigma that |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | may lead to separation and isolation; and |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | WHEREAS, Since its founding, PLAN @ 1121 Rock has been a force |

| 25 | 26 | | for good in the lives of many individuals, and it is indeed a |

| 26 | 27 | | privilege to recognize the organization for the important |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | contributions it has made to the community; now, therefore, be it |

| 28 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |

| 29 | 30 | | Legislature hereby honor PLAN @ 1121 Rock for its service to persons |
