| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Network of Community Ministries, a nonprofit, |

| 6 | 7 | | nondenominational organization serving North Texas, has made a |

| 7 | 8 | | meaningful difference in the lives of countless families in need; |

| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, In 1985, several churches and community groups came |

| 10 | 11 | | together with the goal of assisting neighbors who were struggling |

| 11 | 12 | | in the midst of an economic downturn; they formed Network of |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | Community Ministries, which today serves nearly 30,000 individuals |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | each year in Richardson, Dallas, Plano, and Garland; and |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Network of Community Ministries offers emergency |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | help in the form of food and clothing donations, utilities, and |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | rental assistance, in addition to a medical and dental voucher |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | program and various resources for senior citizens; the organization |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | also provides a variety of support services, including case |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | management and stability planning, job coaching, ESL and GED |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | classes, and benefits assistance; since 2019, Network has operated |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | a mobile food pantry for qualifying students who attend Richardson |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | ISD and their families; and |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | WHEREAS, Through its outstanding work over the course of more |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | than 35 years, Network of Community Ministries has set an inspiring |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | example of faith in action, and all those affiliated with this |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | exemplary organization may indeed take great pride in their |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | efforts; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
|---|
| 29 | 30 | | Legislature hereby honor Network of Community Ministries for its |
|---|
| 30 | 31 | | charitable service to North Texas and extend to all those |
|---|
| 31 | 32 | | associated with the organization sincere best wishes for the |
|---|

| 33 | 34 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
