5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Walter Lee Hall is retiring from Surety Title |

6 | 7 | | Company in Junction in 2021, drawing to a close a notable career |

7 | 8 | | that has spanned nearly a half century; and |

8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, A native of Kerrville, Lee Hall learned the value of |

9 | 10 | | hard work at an early age, helping out on his family's ranch; he |
---|
10 | 11 | | lettered in football at Tivy High School, and after graduating in |
---|
11 | 12 | | 1969, he attended Schreiner College before earning his bachelor's |
---|
12 | 13 | | degree in agricultural economics at Texas Tech University in 1973; |
---|
13 | 14 | | and |
---|
14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Hall began his career at the Junction branch of |
---|
15 | 16 | | Hill Country Savings and Loan, and he went on to work as a real |
---|
16 | 17 | | estate agent and appraiser; he was later employed by the Texas |
---|
17 | 18 | | Department of Human Resources, and in 2004 he joined Surety Title |
---|
18 | 19 | | Company, which he has served as Junction office manager; along the |
---|
19 | 20 | | way, he has maintained his family's ranching and hunting operations |
---|
20 | 21 | | with his siblings through the Hall Ranches Partnership; and |
---|
21 | 22 | | WHEREAS, In addition to his professional accomplishments, |
---|
22 | 23 | | Mr. Hall has contributed to his fellow citizens as a longtime |
---|
23 | 24 | | volunteer firefighter; he has served the Junction Volunteer Fire |
---|
24 | 25 | | Department as assistant chief, chief, and captain, and he has also |
---|
25 | 26 | | been active with the Kimble Rural Fire Department, holding several |
---|
26 | 27 | | leadership positions with that department as well; he has further |
---|
27 | 28 | | given back to the community as the constable for Kimble County, as |
---|
28 | 29 | | president of the Kimble Electric Cooperative and Kimble County Farm |
---|
29 | 30 | | Bureau boards, and as a board member for the Hill Country Cowboy |
---|
30 | 31 | | Camp Meeting, Nurses of Kimble County, and Kimble County Chamber of |
---|
31 | 32 | | Commerce; he was named Kimble County Citizen of the Year in 1994; |

---|
33 | 34 | | WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Hall enjoys the love and |
---|
34 | 35 | | support of his wife, Fran Lane-Hall, as well as that of his |
---|
35 | 36 | | children, Melinda and Mark, and his grandchildren, Thomas, Riley, |
---|
36 | 37 | | and Megan; and |
---|
37 | 38 | | WHEREAS, Through the years, Lee Hall's dedication, hard work, |
---|
38 | 39 | | and commitment to service have greatly benefited the people of |
---|
39 | 40 | | Kimble County and earned him the respect and admiration of all who |
---|
40 | 41 | | know him, and he may indeed reflect with pride on a career well |
---|
41 | 42 | | spent as he embarks upon the next exciting chapter of his life; now, |

42 | 43 | | therefore, be it |

43 | 44 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |

44 | 45 | | Legislature hereby congratulate Walter Lee Hall on his retirement |
