| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, A rich and purposeful life drew to a close with the |

| 6 | 7 | | passing of Ramiro Robles of El Paso on December 9, 2018, at the age |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The son of Jose Robles and Dolores Gonzalez Robles, |

| 9 | 10 | | Ramiro Robles was born on January 7, 1933, and grew up with three |

| 10 | 11 | | brothers, Carlos, Jose, and Eduardo, and a sister, Bertha; he |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | attended Bowie High School in El Paso and went on to join the U.S. |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | Air Force, serving his country during the Korean War; after leaving |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | the military, he embarked on a successful career as a civilian |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | employee with the transportation department at Fort Bliss; and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, Valuing family above all else, Mr. Robles shared 64 |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | years of marriage with his wife, Belen Borrego Robles, and he took |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | great pride in his children, Mary Helen, Carlos Francisco, and |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | Ramiro; with the passing years, he had the pleasure of seeing his |

| 19 | 20 | | family grow to include 7 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren; |

| 21 | 22 | | WHEREAS, This esteemed civic leader was a longtime member of |

| 22 | 23 | | the League of United Latin American Citizens, serving as national |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | vice president for the Southwest for two terms and helping LULAC |

| 24 | 25 | | Councils No. 132 and No. 298 with educational and youth programs; a |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | sports enthusiast, he loved following the New York Yankees and |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | Dallas Cowboys, and he enjoyed traveling and playing golf; and |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | WHEREAS, Although Ramiro Robles is greatly missed, he has |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | left his family and friends with many cherished memories, and he |
|---|
| 29 | 30 | | will forever hold a special place in their hearts; now, therefore, |

| 31 | 32 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
