| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The Irving Fire Department has played an important |

| 6 | 7 | | role in the response to the COVID-19 pandemic by administering |

| 7 | 8 | | vaccines in the community; and |
|---|
| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, In an effort to increase COVID-19 vaccine |
|---|
| 9 | 10 | | availability, a new vaccine hub was opened in Grand Prairie in |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | February 2021; the site is managed by the Grand Prairie and Irving |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | emergency management teams, and vaccines are being administered by |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | the cities' fire departments; and |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | WHEREAS, The Irving Fire Department has worked to ensure the |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | continued health and safety of area residents during a global |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | health crisis, and the agency is indeed deserving of recognition |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | for its vital contributions; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | Legislature hereby commend the Irving Fire Department for its |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | outstanding service to Texans during the COVID-19 pandemic and |

| 20 | 21 | | extend to all those associated with the department sincere |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | appreciation for their dedicated efforts; and, be it further |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |

| 23 | 24 | | prepared for the department as an expression of high regard by the |
|---|
