| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The Arlington Retired School Employees Association |

| 6 | 7 | | is celebrating the 50th anniversary of its founding in 2021, |

| 7 | 8 | | providing a fitting opportunity to recognize the organization for |

| 8 | 9 | | its myriad contributions; and |
|---|
| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, Established on April 20, 1971, the Arlington Retired |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | School Employees Association works for the benefit of retired |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | personnel from the Arlington Independent School District and |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | advances their professional, financial, and intellectual interests |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | through its advocacy efforts; as the District 11 member of the Texas |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | Retired Teachers Association, the group sponsors numerous programs |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | for members, including retirement education seminars and |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | informational presentations on a variety of subjects, and it |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | coordinates with other organizations for educators at the local, |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | state, and national levels; and |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | WHEREAS, ARSEA encourages its members to use their training |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | and experience to further the educational, social, civic, and |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | spiritual growth of the community at large; of particular note, the |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | association participates in the TRTA Children's Book Project and |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | provides scholarships for Arlington ISD graduating seniors who plan |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | to enter the teaching profession; and |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | WHEREAS, For a half century, the dedicated members of the |

| 26 | 27 | | Arlington Retired School Employees Association have demonstrated |

| 27 | 28 | | an unwavering commitment to its members and to the betterment of the |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | community, and it is a pleasure to join in commemorating this |

| 29 | 30 | | special milestone in the association's rich history; now, |

| 31 | 32 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
