45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, Kathleen Garza of Austin retired from the Office of
67 the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts in 2021, drawing to a close
78 an exemplary career that spanned nearly three decades; and
89 WHEREAS, A native Austinite, Ms. Garza graduated from
910 Johnston High School in 1989, and three years later, she joined the
1011 Texas Comptroller's Office as an administrative assistant in
1112 support services; in 1995, she transferred to the Property Tax
1213 Assistance Division, where she worked in the Open Records Section
1314 before going on to serve the data security and analysis team and,
1415 subsequently, the data analysis team as the senior team lead, a
1516 position she held until her retirement; and
1617 WHEREAS, In all her endeavors, Ms. Garza has enjoyed the love
1718 and support of her husband, Tony, and she takes great pride in her
1819 two daughters, Francisca and Josefa, five stepchildren, Joseph,
1920 Jeremy, Jonathan, John-Albert, and Stephanie, and 13
2021 grandchildren; and
2122 WHEREAS, Kathleen Garza has greatly benefited her fellow
2223 Texans through her leadership, professionalism, and commitment to
2324 excellence, and as she embarks on the next exciting chapter of her
2425 life, she may indeed reflect with pride on a career well spent; now,
2526 therefore, be it
2627 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
2728 Legislature hereby congratulate Kathleen Garza on her retirement
2829 from the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts and extend to her
2930 sincere best wishes for the future; and, be it further
3031 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3132 prepared for Ms. Garza as an expression of high regard by the Texas
3233 House of Representatives.
