45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, All who shared in the life of Jimmy Keith McCurdy of
67 Waxahachie were deeply saddened by his death on March 10, 2021, at
78 the age of 67; and
89 WHEREAS, The son of William McCurdy Jr. and Dorothy Andersen
910 Shown, Jimmy McCurdy was born outside of Waco on August 7, 1953, and
1011 he grew up in a large family; although he left high school at age 16,
1112 he went on to complete his GED in 1979 and later earned a bachelor's
1213 degree in business studies from Dallas Baptist University; and
1314 WHEREAS, Mr. McCurdy began his career in aviation in 1986 at
1415 Vought Aircraft as an inspector in the bond shop, and in 1996, he
1516 took a job at Lockheed Martin; his contributions to the company
1617 included work with the B-2 Bomber, C-17 airlifter, Boeing aircraft,
1718 and weapons programs; he held a variety of positions over the course
1819 of his tenure and retired in 2018 as senior quality engineer of all
1920 programs; and
2021 WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. McCurdy enjoyed the love
2122 and support of his wife, Judy, with whom he shared a rewarding
2223 marriage that spanned four decades; he was the proud father of four
2324 children, Stacey, Christopher, Jeffrey, and Michael, and with the
2425 passing years, he was further blessed with 13 grandchildren and 5
2526 great-grandchildren; in his leisure hours, he took pleasure in
2627 hunting, golfing, cooking, and spending time at the river with
2728 family and friends, and he had a passion for vintage cars; and
2829 WHEREAS, Although Jimmy McCurdy will be deeply missed, he has
2930 left his loved ones with a wealth of memories that they will forever
3031 treasure; now, therefore, be it
3132 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
3233 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Jimmy Keith McCurdy
3334 and extend sincere condolences to the members of his family: to his
3435 wife, Judy McCurdy; to his children, Stacey Lynch and her husband,
3536 Brad, Christopher McCurdy, Jeffrey Martin and his wife, Chrystal,
3637 and Michael Martin and his wife, Jenifer; to his grandchildren,
3738 Evan McCurdy, Bailey Huber, Madison Brown, Cade and Cali Jo Lynch,
3839 Shad, Destiney, Jeffrey, Hadassah, Maggie, McKenna, and Hestian
3940 Martin, and Narissa Martinez; to his great-grandchildren; to his
4041 siblings, Charles McCurdy and his wife, Norma, Karl Ray McCurdy and
4142 his wife, Linda, and Linda Pierce; to his stepsisters, Carol
4243 Harris, Johnnie Woodard, Marian Rushing, and Elizabeth Roberts; and
4344 to his other relatives and friends; and, be it further
4445 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
4546 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
4647 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Jimmy Keith
4748 McCurdy.
