45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, A life lived with joy and purpose drew to a close
67 with the passing of Mary Ann Mulkern Vignaux of Midlothian on
78 February 5, 2021, at the age of 64; and
89 WHEREAS, The daughter of Michael Mulkern and Mary McDonagh
910 Mulkern, the former Mary Ann Mulkern was born in Norwood,
1011 Massachusetts, on May 6, 1956; her father passed away when she was
1112 only 12 years old, and she helped her mother care for nine younger
1213 siblings, John, Eileen, Patricia, Michael, Theresa, Catherine,
1314 Nancy, Kevin, and Christine; and
1415 WHEREAS, After graduating from Norwood High School,
1516 Ms. Vignaux went on to earn certification as a licensed practical
1617 nurse, and she began her professional career at the West Roxbury
1718 Veterans Administration hospital; in 1996, she transferred to the
1819 Dallas VA hospital, where she continued to provide skilled,
1920 compassionate care for veterans with spinal cord injuries, multiple
2021 sclerosis, and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis; she retired in 2019;
2122 and
2223 WHEREAS, Ms. Vignaux shared a fulfilling marriage with her
2324 husband, Richard Vignaux, that spanned 43 years; she was the
2425 devoted mother of four children, Michael, Maureen, Patricia, and
2526 Catherine, and she took great pride in her five grandchildren,
2627 Eamon, Keiran, Finn, Kessler, and Jolie; she loved cooking big,
2728 wonderful meals for family and friends, and she rounded up as many
2829 relatives as possible for vacations at Loyd Park in Grand Prairie,
2930 Jellystone Park in Burleson, Turner Falls in Oklahoma, and
3031 Nantasket Beach and Lake Sunapee in New England; and
3132 WHEREAS, Although Mary Ann Vignaux will be deeply missed by
3233 those she left behind, they will forever remember the warmth and
3334 kindness she brought into their lives; now, therefore, be it
3435 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
3536 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Mary Ann Mulkern
3637 Vignaux and extend sincere condolences to her family and friends;
3738 and, be it further
3839 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
3940 prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
4041 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Mary Ann
4142 Vignaux.
