| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, A life lived with joy and purpose drew to a close |

| 6 | 7 | | with the passing of Mary Ann Mulkern Vignaux of Midlothian on |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The daughter of Michael Mulkern and Mary McDonagh |

| 9 | 10 | | Mulkern, the former Mary Ann Mulkern was born in Norwood, |

| 10 | 11 | | Massachusetts, on May 6, 1956; her father passed away when she was |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | only 12 years old, and she helped her mother care for nine younger |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | siblings, John, Eileen, Patricia, Michael, Theresa, Catherine, |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | Nancy, Kevin, and Christine; and |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, After graduating from Norwood High School, |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | Ms. Vignaux went on to earn certification as a licensed practical |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | nurse, and she began her professional career at the West Roxbury |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | Veterans Administration hospital; in 1996, she transferred to the |

| 18 | 19 | | Dallas VA hospital, where she continued to provide skilled, |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | compassionate care for veterans with spinal cord injuries, multiple |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | sclerosis, and amyotrophic lateral sclerosis; she retired in 2019; |

| 22 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Vignaux shared a fulfilling marriage with her |

| 23 | 24 | | husband, Richard Vignaux, that spanned 43 years; she was the |

| 24 | 25 | | devoted mother of four children, Michael, Maureen, Patricia, and |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | Catherine, and she took great pride in her five grandchildren, |

| 26 | 27 | | Eamon, Keiran, Finn, Kessler, and Jolie; she loved cooking big, |

| 27 | 28 | | wonderful meals for family and friends, and she rounded up as many |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | relatives as possible for vacations at Loyd Park in Grand Prairie, |
|---|
| 29 | 30 | | Jellystone Park in Burleson, Turner Falls in Oklahoma, and |

| 30 | 31 | | Nantasket Beach and Lake Sunapee in New England; and |

| 31 | 32 | | WHEREAS, Although Mary Ann Vignaux will be deeply missed by |

| 32 | 33 | | those she left behind, they will forever remember the warmth and |

| 33 | 34 | | kindness she brought into their lives; now, therefore, be it |

| 34 | 35 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |

| 35 | 36 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Mary Ann Mulkern |
