| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, All who shared in the life of Sam L. Womack of Tyler |

| 6 | 7 | | were deeply saddened by his death on March 4, 2020, at the age of 89; |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Sam Womack was born on September 13, 1930, to |

| 9 | 10 | | Hildred and Minnie James Womack, and he grew up with the |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | companionship of his two siblings, Loraine and David; he graduated |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | from New London High School and went on to study at Tyler Junior |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | College; answering his nation's call to duty, he served in the U.S. |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | Army as a sergeant first class during the Korean War, and he |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | continued his service as a member of the Army Reserve until he was |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | honorably discharged in 1956; and |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Upon returning to civilian life, Mr. Womack was an |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | oil field worker for several years before becoming a game warden for |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, where he enjoyed a |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | rewarding career that spanned more than three decades; and |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | WHEREAS, In all his endeavors, Mr. Womack benefited from the |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | love and support of his wife, Annelle, with whom he shared a |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | fulfilling union of 66 years; he took great pride in his son, Jason, |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | and with the passing years, he had the pleasure of seeing his family |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | grow to include two grandchildren, Bethany and Nicole, and two |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | great-grandchildren, Allie Nicole and Tommy John; and |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | WHEREAS, A proud veteran, a devoted father, and a loving |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | husband, Sam Womack lived a life that was rich in the intangibles |

| 28 | 29 | | that matter most, and he will forever hold a treasured place in the |
|---|
| 29 | 30 | | hearts of all those who held him dear; now, therefore, be it |

| 30 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |

| 31 | 32 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Sam L. Womack and |

| 32 | 33 | | extend sincere condolences to his loved ones; and, be it further |

| 33 | 34 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
