| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Debbie Rentería was sworn in as a member of the |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Representing the newly created District 3, |
|---|
| 9 | 10 | | Ms. Rentería is the board's first Latinx trustee, and her election |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | marks an important milestone in the district, which serves a |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | predominantly Hispanic student population; and |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | WHEREAS, An active member of the Richardson ISD community, |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | Ms. Rentería has been a volunteer with the PTA for many years, |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | holding a variety of positions including hospitality chair and |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | inclusion chair, and she currently serves as the West liaison for |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | the Richardson High School PTA Board; moreover, she established a |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | parent outreach program at Richardson High School, where she serves |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | as the Padres Unidos parent liaison; her awards and accolades |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | include the PTA Silver Angel Award and three PTA Golden Apple |

| 20 | 21 | | Awards; and |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | WHEREAS, Debbie Rentería has demonstrated a deep commitment |

| 22 | 23 | | to excellence and equity in public education, and her knowledge, |

| 23 | 24 | | experience, and spirit of collaboration are sure to serve her well |

| 24 | 25 | | in her new role; now, therefore, be it |

| 25 | 26 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
