| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, This biennial accolade recognizes professionals |

| 10 | 11 | | under the age of 40 whose innovative leadership and diverse skill |

| 11 | 12 | | sets are helping to build inclusive and equitable economies and |

| 12 | 13 | | resilient communities; selected from more than 200 nominees, Jerry |

| 13 | 14 | | Jones was among the 40 individuals honored on March 16 at a virtual |

| 14 | 15 | | awards ceremony held in conjunction with the International Economic |

| 15 | 16 | | Development Council Leadership Summit; and |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Named the Richmond economic development director in |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | November 2020, Mr. Jones oversees project management, among other |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | duties, and brings more than a decade of experience in workforce |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | development and regional outreach to his new role; he previously |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | worked in Louisiana as director of economic development for the |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | Baton Rouge North Economic Development District and St. John the |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | Baptist Parish, and he has also served as project manager for the |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | Central Louisiana Business Incubator, as economic developer for the |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | Imperial Calcasieu Regional Planning and Development Commission, |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | and as CEO for the Lake Charles North Redevelopment Authority; and |

| 26 | 27 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Jones has further distinguished himself through |

| 27 | 28 | | his civic engagement, serving on the Alexandria City Council as |

| 28 | 29 | | well as on a number of boards and commissions; he also belongs to |

| 29 | 30 | | the Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity and Jno G. Lewis Jr. Lodge No. 261; |

| 30 | 31 | | he holds a political science degree from Southern University and |

| 31 | 32 | | Agricultural & Mechanical College and True South Basic |
