| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Family and friends are mourning the loss of Duard B. |

| 6 | 7 | | McGuffin Jr. of Rio Grande City, who died on January 14, 2021, at |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, "Pinky" McGuffin was born in Rio Grande City on July |

| 9 | 10 | | 12, 1947, to Duard McGuffin and Thelma Saldana, and he grew up with |

| 10 | 11 | | four siblings, Carolyn, Frances, James, and Patrick; he shared a |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | rewarding marriage with his wife, Consuelo "Connie" T. McGuffin, |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | and he was the proud father of two children, Deborah and Robert; |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | later in life, he had the pleasure of welcoming into his family four |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | grandchildren, Victoria, Matthew, Garrett, and Carol; and |

| 15 | 16 | | WHEREAS, During high school in Rio Grande City, Mr. McGuffin |

| 16 | 17 | | was a member of the Mighty Rattlers football team, wearing jersey |

| 17 | 18 | | number 71; after graduating in 1965, he attended Laredo Junior |

| 18 | 19 | | College, and he served in the U.S. Army Reserve until 1973; he |

| 19 | 20 | | enjoyed a long career in the oil and gas services industry, working |

| 20 | 21 | | first for his family's business, J&M Well Service, and then |

| 21 | 22 | | starting his own company, Remco Services, Inc.; moreover, he was a |

| 22 | 23 | | member of the Knights of Columbus; and |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | WHEREAS, A devoted family man and a hardworking professional, |

| 24 | 25 | | Pinky McGuffin lived a rich and purposeful life, and those he leaves |

| 25 | 26 | | behind will forever cherish their memories of this kind and caring |

| 26 | 27 | | man; now, therefore, be it |

| 27 | 28 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
