45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, A caring and purposeful life drew to a close with the
67 passing of James Hardy Pope of Angleton on July 29, 2020, at the age
78 of 65; and
89 WHEREAS, Jim Pope was born to Herbert Pope Jr. and Nello Pope
910 on February 4, 1955; he grew up with the companionship of a sister,
1011 Cathy, and he had a delightful childhood that included countless
1112 hours of fishing and hunting along the Llano River; and
1213 WHEREAS, A devoted husband and father, Mr. Pope enjoyed a
1314 rewarding family life with his wife, Lisa, and their two children,
1415 Kimberly and Stephen; he took great pride in providing for his
1516 family and loved taking them on cross-country road trips; with the
1617 passing years, he was further blessed with four grandchildren,
1718 Luke, Seth, Abigail, and Joanna; and
1819 WHEREAS, Possessed of a warm nature, a generous spirit, and a
1920 deep and abiding faith, Jim Pope was a source of joy to all who
2021 shared in the richness of his life, and they will forever hold him
2122 close in their hearts; now, therefore, be it
2223 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
2324 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of James Hardy Pope and
2425 extend sincere condolences to his family and friends; and, be it
2526 further
2627 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
2728 prepared for his family and that when the Texas House of
2829 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Jim Pope.
