| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Joe Don Holley has been named a recipient of a 2021 |

| 6 | 7 | | Distinguished Alumni Award by the Longview Independent School |

|---|
| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Each year, the district recognizes former students |
|---|
| 9 | 10 | | who have excelled in their careers and who have made significant |

| 10 | 11 | | contributions to their communities; honorees are nominated |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | at-large and selected by other distinguished alumni, volunteer |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | committee members, and the district's community relations office; |

| 14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, A 1990 graduate of Longview High School, Mr. Holley |

| 15 | 16 | | earned his bachelor's degree in architecture from The University of |

| 16 | 17 | | Texas at Austin; he subsequently began his career with HKS, Inc. of |

| 17 | 18 | | Dallas, where he is senior vice president and principal |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | shareholder; as a project manager with 22 years of experience, he |

| 19 | 20 | | has provided expertise on such projects as the Dell Seton Medical |
|---|
| 20 | 21 | | Center at The University of Texas in Austin, the Dell Children's |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | Medical Center of Central Texas Ambulatory Pavilion in Austin, and |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | the Fort Duncan Regional Medical Center in Eagle Pass, among |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | numerous others; and |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | WHEREAS, Deeply committed to his community, Mr. Holley gives |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | generously of his time to the Dallas Area Chapter of Hearts and |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | Hammers, a nonprofit organization that refurbishes homes in |
|---|
| 27 | 28 | | economically disadvantaged communities; he also volunteers with |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | Canstruction International, a charity art exhibition and food |
|---|
| 29 | 30 | | drive; and |

| 30 | 31 | | WHEREAS, The accomplishments of noteworthy alumni are a |

| 31 | 32 | | source of great pride to all those associated with Longview ISD, and |

| 32 | 33 | | Joe Don Holley is indeed deserving of this prestigious honor; now, |
