45 R E S O L U T I O N
56 WHEREAS, A full and productive life drew to a close with the
67 passing of Patricia Evans Dickey on March 19, 2021, at the age of
78 75; and
89 WHEREAS, The daughter of Leonard and Lula Evans, the former
910 Pat Evans was born in Stonega, Virginia, on October 7, 1945, and
1011 grew up with eight younger siblings, Linda, Brenda, Doris, Leonard,
1112 Roger, John, Larry, and Ronnie; she became the devoted mother of a
1213 son, Bobby, and a daughter, Michelle, and she took great pride in
1314 her six grandchildren, Jack, Julia, Luke, Claire, Alex, and Stuart,
1415 and her great-grandchild, Henry; following the death of her husband
1516 of nearly 40 years, Clive Dickey, she was fortunate enough to find
1617 love again, and she married Warren Taylor; she was a steadfast
1718 source of kindness, compassion, and strength for all the members of
1819 her large extended family; and
1920 WHEREAS, Ms. Dickey began a noteworthy career in real estate
2021 while residing in the Dallas-Fort Worth area; she worked with
2122 Nowland Mortgage Company and was a frequent top producer for Ebby
2223 Halliday Realtors; after moving to Crockett in 1988, she became a
2324 co-owner of Music Mountain water distributors and launched her own
2425 real estate company; she affiliated with Coldwell Banker in 1992
2526 and later opened a second office of Coldwell Banker, Pat Dickey
2627 Realtors in Nacogdoches; dedicated to her profession, she was a
2728 member of the Nacogdoches County Board of Realtors and the Houston
2829 Association of Realtors, and she served on the board of the Texas
2930 Realtors Political Action Committee; and
3031 WHEREAS, Benefiting her community, Ms. Dickey served as
3132 secretary of the Angelina & Neches River Authority Board and as a
3233 member of both the Houston County Hospital District Board and the
3334 board of All Saints' Episcopal Church; moreover, she was a sponsor
3435 of the Piney Woods Fine Arts Association and gave generously of her
3536 time and talents to the Boys and Girls Club; and
3637 WHEREAS, Although Pat Dickey is greatly missed, she has left
3738 those who shared in her love and friendship with a wealth of
3839 memories that they will forever treasure; now, therefore, be it
3940 RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas
4041 Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Patricia Evans Dickey
4142 and extend sincere condolences to her family and friends; and, be it
4243 further
4344 RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be
4445 prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of
4546 Representatives adjourns this day, it do so in memory of Patricia
4647 Evans Dickey.
