5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, A full and productive life drew to a close with the |

6 | 7 | | passing of Patricia Evans Dickey on March 19, 2021, at the age of |

8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, The daughter of Leonard and Lula Evans, the former |
---|
9 | 10 | | Pat Evans was born in Stonega, Virginia, on October 7, 1945, and |
---|
10 | 11 | | grew up with eight younger siblings, Linda, Brenda, Doris, Leonard, |
---|
11 | 12 | | Roger, John, Larry, and Ronnie; she became the devoted mother of a |
---|
12 | 13 | | son, Bobby, and a daughter, Michelle, and she took great pride in |
---|
13 | 14 | | her six grandchildren, Jack, Julia, Luke, Claire, Alex, and Stuart, |
---|
14 | 15 | | and her great-grandchild, Henry; following the death of her husband |
---|
15 | 16 | | of nearly 40 years, Clive Dickey, she was fortunate enough to find |
---|
16 | 17 | | love again, and she married Warren Taylor; she was a steadfast |
---|
17 | 18 | | source of kindness, compassion, and strength for all the members of |
---|
18 | 19 | | her large extended family; and |
---|
19 | 20 | | WHEREAS, Ms. Dickey began a noteworthy career in real estate |
---|
20 | 21 | | while residing in the Dallas-Fort Worth area; she worked with |
---|
21 | 22 | | Nowland Mortgage Company and was a frequent top producer for Ebby |
---|
22 | 23 | | Halliday Realtors; after moving to Crockett in 1988, she became a |

23 | 24 | | co-owner of Music Mountain water distributors and launched her own |
---|
24 | 25 | | real estate company; she affiliated with Coldwell Banker in 1992 |
---|
25 | 26 | | and later opened a second office of Coldwell Banker, Pat Dickey |
---|
26 | 27 | | Realtors in Nacogdoches; dedicated to her profession, she was a |
---|
27 | 28 | | member of the Nacogdoches County Board of Realtors and the Houston |
---|
28 | 29 | | Association of Realtors, and she served on the board of the Texas |
---|
29 | 30 | | Realtors Political Action Committee; and |
---|
30 | 31 | | WHEREAS, Benefiting her community, Ms. Dickey served as |
---|
31 | 32 | | secretary of the Angelina & Neches River Authority Board and as a |
---|
32 | 33 | | member of both the Houston County Hospital District Board and the |
---|
33 | 34 | | board of All Saints' Episcopal Church; moreover, she was a sponsor |
---|
34 | 35 | | of the Piney Woods Fine Arts Association and gave generously of her |
---|
35 | 36 | | time and talents to the Boys and Girls Club; and |
---|
36 | 37 | | WHEREAS, Although Pat Dickey is greatly missed, she has left |
---|
37 | 38 | | those who shared in her love and friendship with a wealth of |
---|
38 | 39 | | memories that they will forever treasure; now, therefore, be it |
---|
39 | 40 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
---|
40 | 41 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the life of Patricia Evans Dickey |
---|
41 | 42 | | and extend sincere condolences to her family and friends; and, be it |

42 | 43 | | further |

43 | 44 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |

44 | 45 | | prepared for her family and that when the Texas House of |
