| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Ben Baker-Katz has ably served his fellow Texans as |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Since joining the staff, Mr. Baker-Katz has |

| 10 | 11 | | tasks, including maintaining the front office, analyzing bills, |

| 11 | 12 | | conducting research, monitoring committees, and managing |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | constituent casework and databases; while gaining valuable |

| 13 | 14 | | experience in the field of public service, he has learned more about |

| 14 | 15 | | the legislative process and the issues facing citizens of the Lone |

| 16 | 17 | | WHEREAS, The son of Katharine Baker and Tilden Katz, |

| 17 | 18 | | Mr. Baker-Katz hails from Evanston, Illinois; he is a sophomore |

| 18 | 19 | | majoring in history and political science at Rice University, where |

| 19 | 20 | | he serves as managing editor of the student newspaper and president |

| 20 | 21 | | of the Rice Club Baseball team; in addition, he is a representative |

| 21 | 22 | | on the University Court; previously, he worked as a summer |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | associate at The Strategy Group, a political consulting firm in |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | Chicago; and |

| 24 | 25 | | WHEREAS, This outstanding young man has performed his duties |

| 25 | 26 | | as a legislative intern with skill and dedication, and he is indeed |

| 26 | 27 | | deserving of special recognition for his fine work; now, therefore, |
