|---|
| 9 | 10 | | WHEREAS, The TEA and the Raise Your Hand Texas initiatives |

| 10 | 11 | | seek to combine the best of in-person classroom teaching with |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | online technology to personalize instruction; through extensive |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | research and grant application processes, several ECISD campuses |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | have embarked on the journey of using blended learning, delivering |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | instruction in a way that brings technology, choice, and individual |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | agency into students' daily experiences; and |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Four schools in the district have received Blended |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | Learning Planning Grants from TEA; Sinclair Elementary is the |
|---|
| 18 | 19 | | recipient of a Math Innovation Zone blended learning grant that |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | will be extended to Legacy Middle School during the 2020-2021 |

| 20 | 21 | | school year; the agency awarded non-math blended learning grants to |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | Harmony Elementary and Heritage Middle Schools that will be piloted |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | in science and social studies; and |
|---|
| 23 | 24 | | WHEREAS, The Raising Blended Learners initiative, which is |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | directed by the Raise Your Hand Texas Foundation, presented blended |
|---|
| 25 | 26 | | learning grants to CAST Lead High School, the Salado Elementary |
|---|
| 26 | 27 | | School East Central Leadership Academy, and Pecan Valley Elementary |

| 27 | 28 | | School; starting in fall 2021, the grants will be implemented in |

| 28 | 29 | | multiple grade levels and content areas; and |
|---|
| 29 | 30 | | WHEREAS, East Central ISD continues to discover new and |
|---|
| 30 | 31 | | innovative ways to increase student engagement and achievement, and |
|---|
| 31 | 32 | | these grants are a testament to the skill and professionalism of the |
|---|
| 32 | 33 | | district's faculty and staff; now, therefore, be it |
|---|
| 33 | 34 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |
|---|
| 34 | 35 | | Legislature hereby commend the East Central Independent School |
|---|
| 35 | 36 | | District on receiving blended learning grants from the Texas |
|---|
| 36 | 37 | | Education Agency and the Raise Your Hand Texas Foundation and that |

| 37 | 38 | | all those associated with the district be extended sincere best |
|---|
| 38 | 39 | | wishes for continued success; and, be it further |

| 39 | 40 | | RESOLVED, That an official copy of this resolution be |
