| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, The Malakoff Independent School District is making a |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Serving nearly 1,500 students across five campuses, |

| 9 | 10 | | Malakoff ISD seeks to foster a challenging and supportive learning |

| 10 | 11 | | environment where young people are equipped to excel in every |

| 11 | 12 | | aspect of their education; in addition to academic instruction, the |

| 12 | 13 | | district provides a variety of cultural and athletic experiences, |

| 13 | 14 | | and it has distinguished itself by receiving an A rating under the |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | Texas Education Agency Accountability Rating System during the |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | 2018-2019 school year; and |

| 16 | 17 | | WHEREAS, Malakoff ISD is ably guided by superintendent Don |

| 17 | 18 | | Layton, and it also benefits from the leadership of its board of |

| 18 | 19 | | trustees, which includes president Rick Vieregge, vice president |

| 19 | 20 | | Jason Dalrymple, secretary Pat Jones, and members Peggy Dewberry, |

| 20 | 21 | | Keith Massingill, Jerry Spiva, and Bryan Young; and |

| 21 | 22 | | WHEREAS, The administrators, teachers, staff, and school |

| 22 | 23 | | board of Malakoff ISD have helped to provide many young Texans with |

| 23 | 24 | | the knowledge and skills they need to become productive members of |

| 24 | 25 | | society, and the district is indeed deserving of special |

| 25 | 26 | | recognition for its significant contributions; now, therefore, be |
