| 5 | 6 | | WHEREAS, Family and friends were deeply saddened by the |

| 6 | 7 | | passing of Ronnie S. Jones of San Angelo on December 5, 2019, at the |

| 7 | 8 | | age of 77; and |

| 8 | 9 | | WHEREAS, Born on July 6, 1942, in Mexia, Ronnie Jones was the |
|---|
| 9 | 10 | | son of Ann and Elwood Jones; he grew up in Snyder with the |
|---|
| 10 | 11 | | companionship of four siblings, Larry, Norman, Dolly, and Gary; |
|---|
| 11 | 12 | | after playing baseball for Odessa College on full scholarship, he |
|---|
| 12 | 13 | | was signed to play professionally for the Houston Astros |
|---|
| 13 | 14 | | organization; and |
|---|
| 14 | 15 | | WHEREAS, In August 1971, he was accepted into the 26th Game |
|---|
| 15 | 16 | | Warden Training Academy at the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department; |
|---|
| 16 | 17 | | upon his graduation in 1972, he was stationed in Vernon, where he |
|---|
| 17 | 18 | | served for seven years as a state game warden; he then took a job as |

| 18 | 19 | | game warden at the W. T. Waggoner Ranch, one of the largest |
|---|
| 19 | 20 | | privately owned ranches in the country; in his free time, Mr. Jones |

| 20 | 21 | | enjoyed outdoor activities, such as baseball, golf, hunting, and |
|---|
| 21 | 22 | | fishing, especially with his friends and family; and |
|---|
| 22 | 23 | | WHEREAS, Mr. Jones wed Patricia Stanley in Odessa in 1964; |

| 23 | 24 | | the couple were blessed with three children, Cheri, Bobby, and |
|---|
| 24 | 25 | | Steve, and their family later grew to include six grandchildren; |

| 25 | 26 | | after his marriage ended, Mr. Jones was fortunate enough to find |

| 26 | 27 | | love again with his beloved companion of 15 years, Joyce Joy; and |

| 27 | 28 | | WHEREAS, Although Ronnie Jones is greatly missed, he left his |
|---|
| 28 | 29 | | family and friends with a wealth of memories that they will forever |

| 29 | 30 | | treasure; now, therefore, be it |

| 30 | 31 | | RESOLVED, That the House of Representatives of the 87th Texas |

| 31 | 32 | | Legislature hereby pay tribute to the memory of Ronnie S. Jones and |

| 32 | 33 | | extend heartfelt sympathy to the members of his family: to his |

| 33 | 34 | | companion, Joyce Joy; to his children, Cheri Roberts, Bobby Jones, |

| 34 | 35 | | and Steve Jones; to his grandchildren, Craig Roberts, Stephanie |

| 35 | 36 | | Roberts, and Ryan, Lauren, Sydni Rae, and Reid Jones; to his |
