| 9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Section 61.058(a), Parks and Wildlife Code, is | |
| 11 | 11 | amended to read as follows: | |
| 12 | 12 | (a) The commission may provide for special open seasons | |
| 13 | 13 | during which the taking and possession of game animals and game | |
| 14 | 14 | birds are restricted to persons under 17 years old. A special open | |
| 15 | 15 | season under this section may not be shorter than seven consecutive | |
| 16 | 16 | days. | |
| 17 | 17 | SECTION 2. As soon as practicable after the effective date | |
| 18 | 18 | of this Act, the Parks and Wildlife Commission shall adopt or amend | |
| 19 | 19 | rules as necessary to comply with the changes in law made by this | |
| 20 | 20 | Act. | |
| 21 | 21 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives | |
| 22 | 22 | a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as | |
| 23 | 23 | provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this | |
| 24 | 24 | Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this | |
| 25 | 25 | Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
