66 AN ACT
77 relating to the duration of a special open hunting season
88 restricted to persons under 17 years old.
99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Section 61.058(a), Parks and Wildlife Code, is
1111 amended to read as follows:
1212 (a) The commission may provide for special open seasons
1313 during which the taking and possession of game animals and game
1414 birds are restricted to persons under 17 years old. A special open
1515 season under this section may not be shorter than seven consecutive
1616 days.
1717 SECTION 2. As soon as practicable after the effective date
1818 of this Act, the Parks and Wildlife Commission shall adopt or amend
1919 rules as necessary to comply with the changes in law made by this
2020 Act.
2121 SECTION 3. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
2222 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
2323 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
2424 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
2525 Act takes effect September 1, 2021.
