55 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
66 AN ACT
77 relating to baccalaureate degree programs offered by certain public
88 junior colleges.
99 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
1010 SECTION 1. Section 130.306, Education Code, is amended by
1111 amending Subsection (b) and adding Subsection (d) to read as
1212 follows:
1313 (b) Except as otherwise provided by this section
1414 [Subsection (a)], a public junior college offering a baccalaureate
1515 degree program under this subchapter may not offer more than three
1616 baccalaureate degree programs at any time.
1717 (d) At any time, the Austin Community College District may
1818 not offer more than five baccalaureate degree programs under this
1919 subchapter.
2020 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
2121 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
2222 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
2323 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
2424 Act takes effect September 1, 2021.
