| 9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Section 247.021(h), Health and Safety Code, is | |
| 11 | 11 | amended to read as follows: | |
| 12 | 12 | (h) The commission shall [department may] automatically | |
| 13 | 13 | issue a temporary [provisional] license to an existing facility | |
| 14 | 14 | licensed under this chapter that has [in the case of] a corporate | |
| 15 | 15 | change of ownership in the [of a] facility. | |
| 16 | 16 | SECTION 2. Not later than January 1, 2022, the executive | |
| 17 | 17 | commissioner of the Health and Human Services Commission shall | |
| 18 | 18 | adopt rules necessary to implement the changes in law made by this | |
| 19 | 19 | Act. | |
| 20 | 20 | SECTION 3. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
