4	6		AN ACT
5	7		relating to the designation of a portion of State Highway 3 in
6	8		Harris County as the Vanessa Guillen Memorial Highway.
7	9		BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
8	10		SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 225, Transportation Code,
9	11		is amended by adding Section 225.190 to read as follows:
10	12		Sec. 225.190. VANESSA GUILLEN MEMORIAL HIGHWAY. (a) The
11	13		portion of State Highway 3 in Harris County between its
12	14		intersection with Interstate Highway 45 and its intersection with
13	15		Almeda Genoa Road is designated as the Vanessa Guillen Memorial
14	16		Highway. The designation is in addition to any other designation.
15	17		(b) Subject to Section 225.021(c), the department shall:
16	18		(1) design and construct markers indicating the
17	19		designation as the Vanessa Guillen Memorial Highway and any other
18	20		appropriate information; and
19	21		(2) erect a marker at each end of the highway and at
20	22		appropriate intermediate sites along the highway.
21	23		SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021.
