57 relating to the eligibility of the National Hot Rod Association
68 Fall Nationals at the Texas Motorplex for funding under the Major
79 Events Reimbursement Program.
810 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
911 SECTION 1. Sections 478.0001(3) and (7), Government Code,
1012 as effective April 1, 2021, are amended to read as follows:
1113 (3) "Event" means any of the following and includes
1214 any activity related to or associated with the following:
1315 (A) the Academy of Country Music Awards;
1416 (B) the Amateur Athletic Union Junior Olympic
1517 Games;
1618 (C) the Breeders' Cup World Championships;
1719 (D) a game of the College Football Playoff or its
1820 successor;
1921 (E) an Elite Rodeo Association World
2022 Championship;
2123 (F) a Formula One automobile race;
2224 (G) the largest event held each year at a sports
2325 entertainment venue in this state with a permanent seating
2426 capacity, including grandstand and premium seating, of at least
2527 125,000;
2628 (H) the Major League Baseball All-Star Game;
2729 (I) the Major League Soccer All-Star Game or the
2830 Major League Soccer Cup;
2931 (J) a mixed martial arts championship;
3032 (K) the Moto Grand Prix of the United States;
3133 (L) the National Association for Stock Car Auto
3234 Racing (NASCAR):
3335 (i) All-Star Race; or
3436 (ii) season-ending Championship Race;
3537 (M) the National Basketball Association All-Star
3638 Game;
3739 (N) a National Collegiate Athletic Association
3840 Final Four tournament game;
3941 (O) the National Collegiate Athletic Association
4042 men's or women's lacrosse championships;
4143 (P) a national collegiate championship of an
4244 amateur sport sanctioned by the national governing body of the
4345 sport that is recognized by the United States Olympic Committee;
4446 (Q) the National Cutting Horse Association
4547 Triple Crown;
4648 (R) the National Hockey League All-Star Game;
4749 (S) the National Hot Rod Association Fall
4850 Nationals at the Texas Motorplex;
4951 (T) a national political convention of the
5052 Republican National Committee or the Democratic National
5153 Committee;
5254 (U) [(T)] an Olympic activity, including a
5355 Junior or Senior activity, training program, or feeder program
5456 sanctioned by the United States Olympic Committee's Community
5557 Olympic Development Program;
5658 (V) [(U)] a presidential general election
5759 debate;
5860 (W) [(V)] the Professional Rodeo Cowboys
5961 Association National Finals Rodeo;
6062 (X) [(W)] a Super Bowl;
6163 (Y) [(X)] the United States Open Championship;
6264 (Z) [(Y)] a World Cup soccer game or the World
6365 Cup soccer tournament;
6466 (AA) [(Z)] the World Games; or
6567 (BB) [(AA)] the X Games.
6668 (7) "Site selection organization" means:
6769 (A) the Academy of Country Music;
6870 (B) the Amateur Athletic Union;
6971 (C) the College Football Playoff Administration,
7072 LLC, or its successor;
7173 (D) the Commission on Presidential Debates;
7274 (E) the Democratic National Committee;
7375 (F) Dorna Sports;
7476 (G) the Elite Rodeo Association;
7577 (H) ESPN or an affiliate;
7678 (I) the Federation Internationale de Football
7779 Association (FIFA);
7880 (J) the International World Games Association;
7981 (K) Major League Baseball;
8082 (L) Major League Soccer;
8183 (M) the National Association for Stock Car Auto
8284 Racing (NASCAR);
8385 (N) the National Basketball Association;
8486 (O) the National Collegiate Athletic
8587 Association;
8688 (P) the National Cutting Horse Association;
8789 (Q) the National Football League;
8890 (R) the National Hockey League;
8991 (S) the National Hot Rod Association;
9092 (T) the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association;

104106 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021.
