| 9 | 9 | | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: |

| 10 | 10 | | SECTION 1. Section 24.120(b), Government Code, is amended |
|---|
| 11 | 11 | | to read as follows: |
|---|
| 12 | 12 | | (b) The 19th, 54th, 74th, 170th, [and] 414th, and 474th |
|---|
| 13 | 13 | | district courts have concurrent jurisdiction in McLennan County. |
|---|
| 14 | 14 | | SECTION 2. Subchapter C, Chapter 24, Government Code, is |
|---|
| 15 | 15 | | amended by adding Section 24.60097 to read as follows: |
|---|
| 16 | 16 | | Sec. 24.60097. 474TH JUDICIAL DISTRICT (MCLENNAN COUNTY). |

| 17 | 17 | | (a) The 474th Judicial District is composed of McLennan County. |
|---|
| 18 | 18 | | (b) The 474th District Court has concurrent jurisdiction |
|---|
| 19 | 19 | | with the county court and the statutory county courts of McLennan |
|---|
| 20 | 20 | | County in misdemeanor cases as well as the jurisdiction prescribed |
|---|
| 21 | 21 | | by general law for district courts. |
|---|
| 22 | 22 | | (c) The terms of the 474th District Court begin on the |
|---|
| 23 | 23 | | second Mondays in February, April, June, August, October, and |
|---|
| 24 | 24 | | December. |
|---|
| 25 | 25 | | (d) Section 24.120, relating to the 19th District Court, |
|---|
| 26 | 26 | | contains provisions applicable to both that court and the 474th |
|---|
| 27 | 27 | | District Court. |
|---|
| 28 | 28 | | SECTION 3. The 474th Judicial District is created on the |
|---|
| 29 | 29 | | effective date of this Act. |
|---|
| 30 | 30 | | SECTION 4. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
