44 A BILL TO BE ENTITLED
55 AN ACT
66 relating to baccalaureate degree programs offered by certain public
77 junior colleges.
88 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
99 SECTION 1. Section 130.306, Education Code, is amended by
1010 amending Subsection (b) and adding Subsection (d) to read as
1111 follows:
1212 (b) Except as otherwise provided by this section
1313 [Subsection (a)], a public junior college offering a baccalaureate
1414 degree program under this subchapter may not offer more than three
1515 baccalaureate degree programs at any time.
1616 (d) At any time, Collin County Community College may
1717 offer no more than five baccalaureate degree programs under this
1818 subchapter.
1919 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect immediately if it receives
2020 a vote of two-thirds of all the members elected to each house, as
2121 provided by Section 39, Article III, Texas Constitution. If this
2222 Act does not receive the vote necessary for immediate effect, this
2323 Act takes effect September 1, 2021.
