| 9 | 9 | SECTION 1. Section 25.090, Education Code, is amended by | |
| 10 | 10 | adding Subsections (b-1) and amending Subsection (c) to read as | |
| 11 | 11 | follows: | |
| 12 | 12 | (b-1) In this section, "peace officer" includes a | |
| 13 | 13 | constable. | |
| 14 | 14 | (c) For services performed under this section by a peace | |
| 15 | 15 | officer, additional [Additional] compensation shall [may not] be | |
| 16 | 16 | paid from the funds of the county, independent school district, or | |
| 17 | 17 | open-enrollment charter school at a rate commensurate with the | |
