The bill amends the Occupations Code as it relates to a physician's specialty board certification.The bill would require the Texas Medical Board (TMB) to determine if a physician is specialty board certified based upon the physician's initial certification by a specialty board organization rather than the physician's maintenance of their certification after the initial designation.It is assumed that the bill's provisions would have no fiscal implication to the State or to TMB.
