9 | 9 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Section 233.064, Local Government Code, is | |
11 | 11 | amended by amending Subsection (e) and adding Subsection (e-1) to | |
12 | 12 | read as follows: | |
13 | 13 | (e) Except as provided by Subsection (e-1), the [The] county | |
14 | 14 | shall begin the inspection of the building within five business | |
15 | 15 | days after the date of the receipt of the written inspection | |
16 | 16 | request. If an inspection is properly requested and the county does | |
17 | 17 | not begin the inspection within the time permitted by this | |
18 | 18 | subsection, the building that is the subject of the request is | |
19 | 19 | considered approved for the purposes of this subchapter. | |
20 | 20 | (e-1) A county with a population of more than 3.3 million | |
21 | 21 | shall begin the inspection of the building within 10 business days | |
22 | 22 | after the date of receipt of the written inspection request. | |
23 | 23 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
