55 AN ACT
66 relating to the renewal of local disaster declarations.
77 BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS:
88 SECTION 1. Section 418.108(b), Government Code, is amended
99 to read as follows:
1010 (b) A declaration of local disaster:
1111 (1) may not be continued or renewed for a period of
1212 more than seven days except with the consent of the governing body
1313 of the political subdivision in a public meeting or the chief
1414 administrative officer of a joint board as provided by Subsection
1515 (e), as applicable.
1616 (2) Thereafter, a declaration of local disaster may
1717 not continue for more than 30 days unless renewed by the governing
1818 body of the political subdivision in a public meeting or the chief
1919 administrative officer or a joint board as provided by Subsection
2020 (e), as applicable.
2121 SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021.
