10 | 10 | BE IT ENACTED BY THE LEGISLATURE OF THE STATE OF TEXAS: | |
11 | 11 | SECTION 1. Subchapter B, Chapter 22, Transportation Code, | |
12 | 12 | is amended by adding Section 22.028 to read as follows: | |
13 | 13 | Sec. 22.028. MAILING OF PROHIBITED ITEMS TO PASSENGER'S | |
14 | 14 | RESIDENCE. (a) An operator of an airport under this chapter: | |
15 | 15 | (1) shall provide passengers the option to mail to | |
16 | 16 | their residence an item prohibited beyond the airport's security | |
17 | 17 | screening; and | |
18 | 18 | (2) may charge a passenger a fee to mail the item in an | |
19 | 19 | amount not to exceed $30 plus the cost of mailing the item. | |
20 | 20 | (b) This section does not apply to an item that is: | |
21 | 21 | (1) seized in connection with an alleged offense; or | |
22 | 22 | (2) prohibited from being shipped by United States | |
23 | 23 | mail. | |
24 | 24 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
