| 10 | 10 | SECTION 1. Section 31.451, Natural Resources Code, is | |
| 11 | 11 | amended by adding Subsection (e) to read as follows: | |
| 12 | 12 | (e) The land office must consult with each American Indian | |
| 13 | 13 | tribe, including federally recognized tribes and local tribes that | |
| 14 | 14 | may not be officially recognized by the state or federal | |
| 15 | 15 | government, that has a historical connection to the Alamo or the | |
| 16 | 16 | area surrounding the Alamo complex before beginning any major | |
| 17 | 17 | project to preserve, maintain, restore, or improve the Alamo or | |
| 18 | 18 | Alamo complex. | |
| 19 | 19 | SECTION 2. This Act takes effect September 1, 2021. |
